The Work

ALSAE builds relationships between the scientists advancing longevity science and the artists and storytellers who shape what culture believes is possible. The programs below are how that happens — bringing these worlds into genuine conversation, in settings designed for real exchange rather than conventional networking.

Lab Tours

ALSAE brings working creative professionals directly into the laboratories where longevity science is being made — an unfiltered, firsthand encounter with the science and the scientists advancing it. No other program puts Hollywood creators inside active longevity research facilities with the researchers doing the work. For many participants, it is their first direct encounter with where the science actually stands.

JANUARY 2026 · NOVATO, CALIFORNIA

Buck Institute for Research on Aging

Science presentations from Dr. Eric Verdin, President and CEO of the Buck Institute, and Dr. Nathan Price, Co-Director of the Center for Human Healthspan, covered the current landscape of longevity science and the therapies advancing toward clinical use. A behind-the-scenes tour of six of the institute’s research labs — including its Clinical Research Center, the world’s first Center for Healthy Aging in Women, the NASA collaboration lab studying accelerated aging in zero gravity, and a presentation from Cyclarity on engineered molecules targeting atherosclerosis — introduced creators to the breadth of work underway, guided by the scientists doing it. The tour concluded with a networking reception and a private dinner bringing together Buck leadership, researchers, and the Hollywood creators in attendance.

MARCH 2026 · LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

The Lundquist Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center

Science presentations from Dr. Steve Horvath — creator of the first universal epigenetic clock and Professor of Human Genetics and Biostatistics at UCLA — and Dr. Greg Fahy, Chief Scientific Officer of Intervene Immune, centered on the TRIIM trial: the first human study to demonstrate reversal of biological age across multiple epigenetic clocks, alongside thymic regeneration and restoration of key immune markers. Creators then toured the Lundquist Institute’s Clinical and Translational Research Center — one of the most sophisticated human clinical trial facilities in the country — including a walk-around tour of the BSL-2 Immune Research Lab, where they observed the equipment and protocols used in active aging research. The day concluded with a lunch reception with the science team.

The Hallmarks of Aging Installation

Conceptual rendering — in development by ALSAE Foundation. © 2026 ALSAE Foundation — all rights reserved.

In 2013, a landmark paper in Cell — now among the most cited in biology — synthesized the biological processes underlying age-related disease into the twelve Hallmarks of Aging, the field’s most broadly accepted scientific framework.

ALSAE is bringing it to life as a large-scale traveling museum installation: twelve sculptural forms with animated projection mapping, making visible for the first time as a public experience both the biology of aging and the emerging technologies working to change it. Designed to tour major cultural institutions and reach audiences in the millions.

This is the first time the biology of aging has been presented as a public experience at this scale — a cultural landmark that will exist in major institutions for years.

FOUNDING PARTNERSHIPS
Named presenting and co-presenting partnerships are available for organizations and individuals who want a permanent role in the founding of this work. Founding Circle members are permanently recognized across all installations, events, and productions associated with the project.

Science & Arts Salons

Curated forums of discovery where breakthrough longevity science meets cultural imagination. These salons translate complex discoveries into compelling creative visions, seeding projects that reach audiences far beyond the lab or studio. Scientists and artists share the possibilities and potential of each other’s realms.

Gatherings & Dinners

Intimate gatherings where artists, storytellers, and scientists meet at the same table. These exchanges foster thought-provoking conversations between leading researchers and influential creators, sparking new ideas about how the future of health can be told—and shaped—through art and culture.

Retreats & Location Visits

Immersive journeys into the spaces where discoveries ignite. From cutting-edge labs to creative studios, participants witness firsthand how science and art are reshaping human potential—building connections only shared experience can unlock. Artists gain rare access to tomorrow’s breakthroughs, while scientists gain new insight into telling the story of their work.
